Antigua is available in 9 painted colours and due to its weight is not suitable for larger unsupported window installations. The maximum number of panels that can be hinged together is 2.
Aesthetics: Manufactured using a patented polymer coating the shutters are extremely durable and easy to maintain. The Antigua shutters have a slight shinier look and a slight orange peel finish due to the polymer coating. Painted shutters have a flatter finish.
Colour palette: There are a total of 9 colour shades available
Our Bermuda Range
Aesthetics: Bermuda is an MDF shutter with ABS louvres which is painted so that it closely resembles the finish of a painted hardwood shutter. 22 contemporary colours are available in the range Including custom colour option.
Hardwearing: Bermuda is coated in a paintable polypropylene sleeve which is very hard wearing and helps to protect the shutter from changes in ambient temperature and this reduces the likelihood of in- situ moisture changes and the risk of warping and twisting.
Sustainability: All of our MDF is produced from managed plantation Radiata Pine forests that reach maturity in about 30 years. This MDFis viewed favourably as substitutes for tropical hardwoods which take close to 200 years to reach maturity. 70% of the MDF manufacturing energy requirements on site are for producing heat and as the plant generates almost all of its own heat requirement by burning wood residues this is very energy efficient. This is a form of bio fuel and is considered greenhouse gas neutral under the Kyoto protocol.
Louvres:. Due to the louvres being manufactured in ABS the panel weight of the shutter has been reduced. This means that single hung panels can now be up 915mm wide as of 63mm while multiple panels are available up to 610mm in width. The number of panels that can be hinged together remains. Over and above the shutters must be tracked.
Colour palette: There are a total of 22 contemporary colours available and these can be viewed in the generic paint keyring.
Our Cuba Range
Features: The Cuba range combines an MDF frame with hardwood shutter panels. The main features of the range are that it combines a robust MDF frame with the lightness of hardwood panels.
Aesthetics: The shutters panels are manufactured in a mix of hardwoods all with a linear grain ideal for painted shutters giving a flat and uniform finish.
Stiles: Please note the stiles are manufactured in a flat or beaded stile. The engineered stiles are reinforced by using multiple layers of wood bonded together ensuring that the panel does not twist or warp.
Colour palette: There are a total of 23 colours available. Including custom colour option (surcharge applied).
Our Java Rage
The Java range is manufactured from ABS (a hard, lightweight plastic) and is ideally suited to bathrooms and wet rooms or rooms that have condensation or humidity issues as it is 100% waterproof.
Aesthetics: Extremely hard wearing and waterproof the Java shutter is also suitable for high traffic areas and is often used in commercial installations. ABS is a hardwearing and lightweight plastic that is easily moulded. This means that unlike lesser vinyl products in the market the profiles of the frames are far more refined. In addition ABS is far more robust than vinyl ensuring that it will cope far better in daily use.
Colour palette: There are 22 standard colours available; custom colours are available at a surcharge.
Our Fiji Rage
The painted Fiji range is manufactured from premium hardwoods. The Fiji stain range is manufactured from Paulownia. These woods are beautiful and stable timbers manufactured using the same high quality standards as all of S:CRAFT’s substrates.
There are a total of 50 contemporary colours available including a custom colour option.
Material Features and Benefits of the stained range of Fiji shutters manufactured in Paulownia:
Paulownia is extremely lightweight and ideal for large windows or windows situated within roof spaces. It has one of the highest strength to weight ratios.
Paulownia has a beautiful light to honey blonde colour and is very receptive to stains where the natural grain shows through. It is dimensionally stable and a consistently knot free hardwood. Due to its low thermal conductivity Paulownia is excellent at keeping homes cool in the summer and warm in winter.
The Paulownia tree is one of the world’s fastest growing tree species and sawn timber can be harvested in 10 years and after harvesting a new tree can grow from the original stump using the old and well established root system. This procedure can be repeated several times, saving post harvest clearing and land erosion. It also has massive leaves which remove huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the air replenishing this with oxygen and the leaves that drop each winter release nitrogen and increase soil fertility.
Shutters are manufactured in a flat or beaded stile. The engineered stiles are reinforced by using multiple layers of wood bonded together ensuring that the panel does not twist or warp.
Linear and curved special shapes are available.
